Glass
2009-02-01
Glass is fascinating stuff to paint or draw. It requires a lot of concentration to get the lights and darks in the right place. And it's actually created by painting it's surroundings. It's challenging and of course it's always nice when it works. It's like painting nothing and ending up with something.

Night Watch
2007-04-01
My copy of The Night Watch from Rembrandt was commissioned by A. Aries of Global Investment. The painting is one sixth of the original and took about a year to complete. Dispite the difficult subject matter, I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

Rembrandt Collection
2007-03-20
Throughout his lifetime and up to the present day, Rembrandts intriguing painting technique has given great pleasure to generations of people. It was an enormous challenge for me to imitate Rembrandts style and painting techniques. Throughout his lifetime and due to his diminishing eyesight, his painting style constantly changed. Over the years he changed from a fine painter to a more expressive painter, which makes the interpretation of his work more difficult. I think I have succeeded in portraying Rembrandts specific talent for light fall.

Drawings of The Hague
1996-04-01
I have been commissioned by the Dutch Government for two paintings of the Parlament Buildings, both of which were used as promotional gifts and have been sent all over the world. Embassies and large institutions, such as Shell and NATO have my work in their collections. Due to the fact that a lot of the commissions were of famous buildings in The Hague, this led me to produce a series of watercolours on this subject. These have been reproduced as lithographs and spread as A4 and cards all over the world by expats.
